Benefits of Rowing

Quad scull

A sport for all abilities

Rowing is a welcoming sport for individuals of all abilities. Whether you have rowed before or want to try something new, everyone is welcome.

Full body workout

Rowing works the whole body — the legs, arms, chest, back, and core. It’s a way to unwind and embrace the rhythm, power, and precision that defines this sport.

Promotes teamwork

Rowing provides an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself — to form a special bond with your teammates. It is the ultimate team sport. Each person’s actions affects the stability and speed of the boat. To be successful, rowers need to work together.

Training alongside other members means you can push each other to succeed.

Competing

The adrenaline of getting to the start line and poised to put all the training into practice, is a great feeling. We take part in the rowing regattas from Kent to Dorset throughout the summer, culminating in the South Coast Championships. It is a great way to see new places and meet people from all backgrounds.

Fun

Maybe most importantly, rowing is fun! From socialising and feeling a sense of community to meeting people who you will call friends for life.
